WoRKSHoP

 I attended a two day workshop by Lynn Hewett over the weekend.
Lynn demonstrated "Confetti Landscapes" - a technique designed & developed by Noriko Endo. You can visit Noriko Endo HeRe...

It was a NeW-To-Me concept & I thoroughly enjoyed the process.

From cutting.... & I mean a LoT of cutting... to starting the layout...

THEN...

End of Day One ... first fabric layer on batting with basic design outline.

Then a layer of black Tulle over the top... then some FM quilting...

Day Two... 

Final layer of fabrics... then another layer of black Tulle... then lots & lots of pins...

After lots of FM quilting... then trimming to size... you can add the facing pieces.

It's stitched to the back by hand.

Just one more step & the wall hanger - measuring 15 inch x 18 inch - 

will be complete & ready to hang.

After a little extra embellishing... it's DoNe.

FNSI

 I joined Wendy last night... well actually I started in the afternoon... but I finished the pouch at night.

My 3yo GD needed a zip up carrier for her Tap & Ballet shoes.

I hope she likes what I came up with...

Sewing At Night

Stitching black at night is a nightmare for my old eyes...AnD sewing dots... 

well that's double the trouble... BUT... I did get to add the binding to this large Community quilt.

It measures 62 inch x  78 inch and is a Monica Poole design. 

It was sewn as a qayg.

FNwF Apology

I apologise for not hosting FNwF this month but I was stuck on the Gold Coast in cyclone Alfred without power.

If anyone is interested... we could get together this coming Friday... March 14th.

RSC 2025

 Using this month's colour of YeLLoW... eight 9 Patch blocks were assembled.

ReTReAT at Wyee

Before heading to the 3 day retreat I managed to load a "panel" onto Teena.

I will use a ruler to create the quilting design.

This will eventually be donated as another Community quilt.

AT the retreat...

FIRST project...

Adding the last column to the flower basket flimsy, I then cut the borders.

It's almost ready to be quilted... yeah

SECOND project...

Stitching around all the applique pieces on this "balloon" flimsy.

Lots of thread changing for this one... 🧵

THIRD project...

Joining 151/2 inch QAYG blocks together (24 in total), then the 6 rows together. 

I used black dotty fabric on the front while using green dotty on the back.

I think this will be a raffle quilt.
